A journey without a destination
With this short series from 2016 I was wanting to keep things simple. I have a tendency to fuss over details, so I forced myself to keep things quick and loose.
The pieces were inspired by a work trip I had recently taken. Work trips for me always feel like a blur of movement from one place to the next, a period of chaos, followed by the fatigued return home.
The memories of work soon pass, leaving behind the paths to and from the destination.
The coloured backgrounds are obscured by the white overlay, with only tints and small flashes of colour peeking through.
This series is acrylic on panel.
Squares are 50x50cm.
Rectangles are on A2 panel, 42×59.4cm.
